What is Meme Party?
Meme Party is an online multiplayer card game where creativity and humor are your best weapons. Each round features a popular meme image, and every player must choose the funniest phrase from their hand of cards (or write a custom one). Then everyone votes for the phrase that made them laugh the most, and the player with the most votes wins the round. It's like playing What Do You Meme or Cards Against Humanity, but digital, free, and from any device.
Step 1: Create or join a match
The first thing you'll see when entering Meme Party is the main screen with two options: create a new match or join an existing one with a code. To play with friends, one of you creates the match and shares the 4-letter code. If you prefer solo practice, you can create a match with bots that act as automatic players.
To join a friend's match, simply enter the room code. You don't need an account, though signing in with Google lets you save your stats and best memes.
Step 2: Configure the match
The host can configure several settings before starting:
- Game mode: Classic (everyone votes) or Dictator (a judge decides each round).
- Number of rounds: Usually between 5 and 10.
- Time per round: 30 seconds by default.
- Categories: Filter by categories like general, GIFs, politics, animals, sports...
Step 3: How each round works
Each player receives 7 cards with phrases. Here is how each round works:
- A meme image appears on screen.
- Choose the best matching card or write a custom phrase with the wildcard.
- When everyone submits (or time runs out), voting begins.
- Vote for the funniest phrase (you can't vote for your own).
- Results are revealed and points are awarded.
Special features
- Discard: Discard up to 2 cards and receive new ones. Only once per match.
- Template change: Propose changing the image. If the majority agrees, it changes.
- Live chat: Talk with others during the match.
- Reactions: Send reactions during voting.
Tips for your first match
- The most obvious phrase isn't always the funniest. Sometimes absurdity wins.
- Read the image carefully before choosing — context matters a lot.
- The wildcard is your best friend when you have a brilliant idea.
- Playing with friends is way more fun because you know each other's humor.
Now you know everything you need. Good luck and may the best meme win!
